Improvement of the "tired look" above the upper eye lid and eyebrow
region can be addressed by a brow or forehead lift. This procedure can be
performed independent or in conjunction with other surgical procedures such
as an eyelid lift (Blepharoplasty) or Face Lift (Rhytidectomy). There are
several techniques available - including placing the incisions within the
scalp, at the hairline, within the creases of the forehead, or with an endoscope
(small camera).
A brow lift is commonly performed upon patients in the age frame starting in their 40's, however, some may consider the procedure at an earlier age as they may have inherited a heavy or low brow. These patients may never achieve an arched or high eyebrow, but with realistic expectations, the "sad" or "tired" look may be improved. Complications are rare but must be thoroughly discussed and considered before you decide to have surgery.
